There have been a number of questions from members regarding the introduction of live streaming for the 2026 NT Dirt Kart Titles.
The introduction of live streaming and video review was not simply a Board initiative. These priorities were identified through DKoA’s strategic planning process and supported by Council, comprising the Presidents or delegates representing affiliated clubs from across Australia.
As part of that strategic planning process, Council also passed a motion on 22nd October 2025 providing the Board with the authority to make the financial and operational decisions necessary to deliver the agreed strategic vision. This governance model allows the Board to implement the initiatives adopted by Council without needing to seek approval from every club for each individual operational decision.
In simple terms, Council sets the direction for the sport, and the Board is entrusted with delivering those outcomes responsibly on behalf of the membership.
Following this direction, the Board entered into an agreement with Clay Per View to deliver live streaming and video review for the 2026 NT Dirt Kart Titles.
The objectives of this initiative are to:
- Increase the exposure and professionalism of dirt karting.
- Allow members, families and supporters who cannot attend to watch our premier events live.
- Introduce video review capability to assist officials in delivering consistent and fair decisions.
- Build a modern platform that can continue to grow and benefit the sport into the future.
The Board also negotiated with Clay Per View to reduce the original proposed pay-per-view pricing to make the coverage more affordable and accessible for members and supporters.
Importantly, this initiative also benefits the host club. Unlike previous national events where live streaming costs have generally been funded by the host club through its own budget or sponsorship, DKoA has funded this initiative at a national level. This allows the host club to retain more of its sponsorship and fundraising income to support its own operations, volunteers, facilities and future development.
Another common question has been where any profit from the live stream goes.
Any net proceeds received by DKoA from the live streaming agreement remain with the association and are reinvested back into dirt karting. They are not distributed to Board members or individuals. Any funds received will be used to support the association’s strategic objectives, national events and future initiatives that benefit clubs and competitors across Australia.
Like any investment, the Board will review the results following the NT Titles, including viewership, financial outcomes and operational feedback, to determine the value delivered and identify opportunities for improvement.
